#VPSAChat 001: Recruitment and Membership Education

As VP for Student Affairs, one of my goals is to host “VPSA Chats” each month where students can join in on the conversation. Each month will have a specific theme or focus and I will bring on guests to help share their perspective and experiences. For September, I invited three students and our VP for Colonization & Membership to speak as a panel on “recruitment and membership education”. Check out the video to learn more about how we do things in Kappa Kappa Psi!

Hazing Intervention: How You Can #PreservetheHonor of ΚΚΨ
NHPW 2019.png

Brothers, we all have a role to play in hazing prevention. We all have a responsibility to preserve the honor of our Brotherhood and to protect the Fraternity against any and all harms of hazing. Each of us must make take a stand against hazing activities and commit to intervening when we suspect such activities are taking place. Speaking up, however, is not always clear or easy to do. The National Council and I recognize that there are several factors that may hinder your ability to intervene. The most common include…

BTV - Episode 7 (Diversity and Inclusion)

Diversity and inclusion are important topics that we can always do a better job of discussing and practicing. Here are some of my thoughts on diversity and inclusion and how the next VPSA can help guide KKPsi students to practice active and allyship. *I am by no means a professional or professionally educated on these matters.

BTV - Episode 5 (Equipping Students to Lead)

Equip our Students to Lead. This is the second component of my vision for the next biennium. I want to help our fraternity and Brothers lead with passion and purpose and what we lack is a thoughtful plan. With this focus, I would like to work with the National Council to ensure that we are continually creating content that will properly train and guide our students through our programming and fraternity work. Check out my video and hear more about how I plan on fully equipping our students with the right tools, resources, connections, feedback, and opportunities to lead!

BTV - Episode 4 (Engaging Brothers to Believe)

Let's take a closer look at the first component of my vision for the biennium: Engaging Brothers to Believe. How often do we tell ourselves and those around us about things we can't achieve? When we focus on our limiting beliefs, we are not truly striving for the highest. In fact, we are doing the exact opposite. As the next VPSA, I would like to work with the National Council to incorporate conversations on how we can help out students build a "growth mindset". How can we help out students shift from the impossible to the possible? Check out this video to learn about my three action items if elected VPSA.
