Communications Committee Plan

  • Step 1 - Meet with Marco and the rest of the National Council to clarify what it is exactly that each officer is going to need from the committee.

  • Step 2 - Meet with District Officers to clarify what their goals are for the term and find ways that the committee can help them achieve these goals.

  • Step 3 - Meet with current committee members to see if they would like to continue on the committee. In addition, it is important that we assess their time on the committee to see if there’s anything we can change to improve their work and experience as a part of the communications committee.

  • Step 4 - Work with Marco and District Governors to find outstanding Brothers to take charge of areas of the committee that need improvement and focus. These Brothers can be Active, Alumni, and/or Honorary. I would, however, like to keep the focus on having Active Brothers serving on the committee.

  • Step 5 - Split the committee into three subgroups and have them focus on different areas for the first 30-60 days of the new biennium.

  • Step 6 - Task Subgroup 1 with performing an assessment of the Fraternity’s communication efforts and social media posts over the last year. They will then create a visual that depicts the main messages and key points for each month. Finally, they will pinpoint areas throughout the year that we can improve our communications efforts, such as more reminders, email campaign, video calls, etc. This work will then be passed on to Subgroup 2.

  • Step 7 - Task Subgroup 2 with creating an editorial calendar for the first 6 months (August - January) and assigning tasks and roles to other committee members. They will then add these details to a shared calendar or task management tool (e.g. Slack, Trello) to ensure that all committee members get reminders, updates, and have a clear understanding of their expectations. This work will then be passed on to Subgroup 3.

  • Step 8 - Task Subgroup 3 with crafting and drafting content needed to complete the projects on the editorial calendar. Content will be divided into messages, images, videos, podcast, and emails.

  • Step 9 - Collaborate with the Student Advisory Committee to review the work that they have done and assess if this meets that they are looking for.

  • Step 10 - Work with the Communications Committee and Student Advisory Committee to develop the “KKPsi Social Ambassador” program. I propose that we develop a way to get more Active Brothers involved in spreading updates and information from the National Council. My goal is to engage a higher number of students, equipping them with the tools, training and resources to spread the word, and empower Active Brothers to share their thoughts and opinions on what we are doing as a national organization.
